Qualification and Degree
To open any medical store, you must have a pharmacy degree. For this, it is necessary to have a Diploma in Pharmacy ( D. Pharm ) or Bachelor in Pharmacy ( B. Pharm ). Apart from this, this degree should also be from an institute recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Without these degrees, you will not get a license to sell medicines.
What if you don’t get a degree?
Even if you do not have a pharmacy degree, you can open a medical store but for this there is a rule to employ a licensed pharmacist at the medical store. Keep in mind that the pharmacist should be present during the working hours of the shop and his name should be registered with the State Pharmacy Council.
License and legal rules for opening a medical store
A medicine license is valid only for one shop. A separate license is required to open a second shop. Every shop must have a licensed pharmacist. Apart from this, running multiple shops on a single license is illegal, doing so can lead to a heavy fine and even cancellation of the license.
