UGC NET Dec 2025 Answer Key: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised final answer key for the UGC NET December 2025 session. This revision was undertaken following a directive from the Delhi High Court. Notably, the final answer key originally released on April 3 did not include all subjects.

This court order has brought significant relief to thousands of students who had long been contesting discrepancies in the answer keys. Students can now expect the revised results for these five subjects to be released on the official website very soon.

It is worth noting that this revised final answer key has not been issued for all subjects, but primarily for History, Economics, Education, Commerce, and Hindi. The revised results for these five subjects could now be released on the official website at any moment.

The Controversy Began with the History Paper

The entire controversy originated with the ‘History’ subject paper, which sparked widespread outrage among students. Approximately 60,777 candidates appeared for the History examination during the December session, and their results were declared on February 4. Following the announcement of the results, students alleged that the answers to at least nine questions had been marked incorrectly.

Surprisingly, despite students filing objections backed by concrete evidence, no changes were made to the final answer key released on February 4. Subsequently, student anger erupted on social media, and the matter eventually reached the courts. Now, in the revised final answer key, the NTA has removed four questions from the History paper, while for three other questions, two correct answer options have been accepted.

When Was the Provisional Answer Key Released?

The NTA conducted the UGC NET examination from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, and the provisional answer key was released on January 14. This examination is conducted to determine eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and admission into PhD programs. A total of 60,777 candidates appeared for the UGC NET History examination held in December, and the results were declared on February 4.

Following the release of the revised final answer key, candidates are now awaiting the revised results for these five subjects. Candidates can visit the official portal at ugcnet.nta.ac.in to view their updated scorecards. Only after the results are announced will it become clear how many new candidates have successfully secured a place on the eligibility list.
