Gold Rate Fall: Gold prices declined today, April 6, 2026. On the first trading day of the week, gold appeared to become cheaper immediately upon the opening of the futures trading market on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX). While silver plummeted by over ₹2,800 per kilogram compared to its previous close, gold prices dropped by more than ₹1,300. People appear quite pleased witnessing the decline in both gold and silver prices. Silver Prices Decline
A significant drop in silver prices was witnessed on the MCX right at the start of trading on Monday. On Thursday—the final trading day of the previous week—silver futures had closed at ₹232,495 per kilogram; however, when the commodity market reopened following the long weekend, silver prices slipped to ₹229,651. Based on this calculation, silver suddenly became ₹2,844 cheaper per kilogram.

Gold Rates Dropped
A substantial decline is also being observed in gold prices. Last Thursday, gold futures closed at ₹149,680 per 10 grams; on Monday, the price opened lower at ₹148,298. This signifies that the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold has decreased by ₹1,382.

In Delhi, the price of 24-karat gold stands at ₹151,070 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the rate for 22-karat gold is ₹138,490 per 10 grams, and for 18-karat gold, it is ₹113,340 per 10 grams.

In Mumbai, the rate for 24-karat gold is ₹150,920 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the price of 22-carat gold stood at ₹138,340 per 10 grams, and the rate for 18-carat gold reached ₹113,190 per 10 grams.
