State Bank of India has made a big announcement for SBI card users (SBI customers). New changes have been made to the Reward Points program, which will take effect from March 31, 2025, and April 1, 2025. These changes will affect the number of Reward Points earned by customers on certain purchases, with points being reduced in some categories.
Which Cards Are Eligible for Reward Points?
The new reward points rules will apply to the following cards:
- SimplyCLICK SBI Card
- Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card
- Air India SBI Signature Credit Card
Changes for SimplyCLICK SBI Cardholders
If you have a SimplyCLICK SBI Card, you might already know about the 10X reward points offered on online spending with Swiggy. However, from April 1, 2025, this benefit will be reduced to 5X reward points. This means you will earn fewer points when ordering on Swiggy.
But there’s some good news! You will still earn 10X reward points on online purchases from popular platforms such as:
- Apollo 24X7
- BookMyShow
- Cleartrip
- Domino’s
- IGP
- Myntra
- Netmeds
- Yatra
Even though the rewards for Swiggy have been reduced, you can continue enjoying great rewards on these platforms.

Changes for Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card
For Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card holders, a significant change is coming.
- Currently, you earn 15 reward points for every ₹100 spent on Air India ticket bookings made through the airline’s website or mobile app.
- From March 31, 2025, this will be reduced to 5 reward points for every ₹100 spent.
This will result in fewer rewards for booking Air India tickets.
Changes for Air India SBI Signature Credit Card
For Air India SBI Signature Credit Card users, the reduction is even more noticeable:
- At present, you earn 30 reward points for every ₹100 spent on Air India tickets.
- From March 31, 2025, this will drop to 10 reward points for every ₹100 spent.
This marks a significant decrease in the rewards for Air India bookings.

If you hold any of the affected SBI cards, make sure to note these changes and adjust your spending strategies. The updates, effective March 31, 2025, and April 1, 2025, will reduce reward points on certain online purchases, especially for Swiggy and Air India bookings.
