FD Rates : The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cut the repo rate by 0.25% i.e. 25 basis points on 9 April 2025. A total of 0.50% has been cut since February 2025. Its effect is clearly visible on the fixed deposit (FD) schemes of banks. Most banks have reduced the interest rates on FDs. This has shocked those investors who prefer low-risk investments, especially senior citizens, whose source of income is FDs.

If you also resort to bank FD to invest your money, then you should invest in the FD of a bank where you get the highest interest rate return. To invest, you can invest in the FD of Punjab National Bank ( PNB ), one of the largest government banks in the country.

PNB FD

PNB offers a very good interest rate of return on FD to its customers. In this bank, general citizens are given interest rate returns ranging from 3.50 percent to 7.10 percent. Whereas for senior citizens, the interest rates range from 4 percent to 7.90 percent. According to the official website of Punjab National Bank, PNB has once again reduced the interest rates on its fixed deposits by 25 basis points. The bank had done this earlier in April as well. The new interest rates on PNB FDs have come into effect from May 1, 2025.

PNB’s FD of this period has the highest returns

If you are investing in PNB FD, then FD with a duration of 390 days is best for you. In this FD of PNB, investors get the highest interest rate return. In this FD, general citizens get 7.10 percent, senior citizens get 7.60 percent and super senior citizens get 7.90 percent interest rate return.
