Mahila Samriddhi Yojana: The government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi is set to initiate the registration process on March 8 to provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This announcement was made by party Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari on Sunday. The BJP had included this commitment in its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections, pledging to implement the Mahila Samridhi Yojana if elected to power.

Set to initiate the registration process on March 8

Manoj Tiwari stated, “We will commence the registration process on March 8 to fulfill our promise of providing Rs 2,500 to underprivileged women in Delhi.” He indicated that a list of beneficiaries would be compiled and that the distribution of Rs 2,500 to each economically disadvantaged woman would be completed within a period of one and a half months. He urged women to take part in the registration for the scheme.

The opposition party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has criticized the BJP government for failing to approve the scheme during its initial cabinet meeting, as had been pledged by the Prime Minister. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has asserted that the AAP administration has left the new BJP government with an “empty treasury.” She expressed confidence that all commitments made by the party to the public would be honored. AAP chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar, in a statement, reminded the BJP of the promises made to the electorate prior to their assumption of power.

Priyanka Kakkar remarked, “Prior to the elections, the BJP assured that every woman in Delhi would receive Rs 2,500 in her account by March 8. The BJP also guaranteed that LPG cylinders would be available for Rs 500, and that every household would receive a complimentary cylinder during Holi and Diwali. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta should prioritize fulfilling these commitments.”

Virendra Sachdeva, president of the BJP’s Delhi unit, responded by stating that following their party’s defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, AAP leaders have become irrelevant and are fabricating “imaginary” issues.
