Along with the Government of India, various states of the country also run many important schemes to empower women financially. In this episode, the Maharashtra government launched the ‘Laadli Behen Yojana’ (also called ‘Beti Behen Yojana’ in many places) in the year 2024. Through this scheme, the government sends direct assistance of ₹ 1500 to the account of women every month.

Crores of women have taken advantage of this scheme so far, but now, some big news is coming: the names of many women are being removed from this scheme. So far, thousands of names have been removed from the list. Are you also one of those lucky women who are still getting benefits, or has your name also been removed? Don’t worry, you can easily check this from home. Let’s know the complete process and the possible reasons for name deletion.

Check your name in Ladli Behen Yojana like this

It is very simple to check whether your name is in the list of Ladli Behen Yojana or not. Follow these steps:

First of all, you have to visit the official website of Ladli Bahin Yojana https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/.

After reaching the website, you will be asked to enter your name, Aadhaar number, or mobile number. Make sure that you enter the same information that you gave while applying.

After entering the information, your status will appear on your screen.

If your name is registered and the information is visible, then understand that you are still getting the benefit of the scheme.

If no information comes from your name, it may mean that your name has been removed from the scheme.

Names are being removed for these reasons

There are some important reasons behind the removal of names from the list of beneficiaries by the Maharashtra government, which aims to provide the benefits of the scheme only to eligible and needy women:

The government has identified many such women who were taking advantage of the scheme in the wrong way. Such names are being removed from the list.

Many women were taking advantage of this scheme despite being in government jobs, whereas, as per the rules, they are not eligible for it. The government is identifying the names of such women.

The government is also checking the Income Tax Returns (ITR). The names of women whose income is found to be more than the eligibility criteria of the scheme, as per ITR, are also being removed from the list. This means that if your income is more than a certain limit, then you will not be eligible for this scheme.

This step of the government is to bring transparency in the scheme and to deliver benefits to the real beneficiaries.

If your name has been deleted by mistake

If you are neither in a government job, nor have you given any wrong information, nor do you have a high income, but still your name has been removed from the scheme, then you can complain about it:

You can register your complaint by visiting your nearest Public Service Center or Panchayat Office.

Carry all your relevant documents while filing a complaint. These can include a copy of your application form, identity proof, residence proof, income proof, and any other relevant documents.

It is also important that you keep all your documents updated in the scheme. Make sure your bank account is linked to Aadhaar and you have completed your e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer). Many times, the reason for name deletion is also due to these details not being updated.
