However, there has been no change whatsoever in the rates for domestic LPG cylinders. Today, May 1st, marks the beginning of a new month, and several changes—including those related to LPG delivery—have come into effect. According to Indian Oil’s rates, as of today, May 1st, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen by ₹993, reaching ₹3,071.50. In contrast, the price of the 14.2-kg domestic cylinder has not changed and remains at ₹913.

PNG and LPG: No Longer Together
In March, the government imposed a ban on the simultaneous use of LPG and PNG. The government has targeted households that possess connections for both LPG and PNG. To prevent misuse and to ensure better targeting of subsidies, the government has begun identifying households with dual connections following the ban.
Households receiving PNG supply are now required to surrender their domestic LPG connections. Oil companies and distributors have also been instructed to cease supplying LPG cylinders to such customers. According to reports, more than 43,000 customers holding dual connections have already surrendered their LPG connections. LPG cylinder customers must now adhere to new regulations regarding booking intervals, OTP-based delivery, and mandatory KYC updates. The Ministry of Gas has extended the booking interval—the minimum time gap between bookings—from 21 days to 25 days in urban areas, and up to 45 days in rural areas.
What are the cylinder prices in UP?
In Agra, the price of a commercial cylinder has risen to ₹3,125.50 effective today. Previously, it was priced at ₹2,132.50—marking a ₹993 increase in the city. However, there has been no change in the rates of domestic cylinders. The price remains ₹924.50 today. While a domestic cylinder is available for ₹950.50 in Lucknow, the price of a commercial cylinder has now risen to ₹3,194. Previously, it stood at ₹2,201.
