How much loan is currently available?
Currently, this scheme offers a loan of ₹5 lakh, with an age limit of 21 to 40 years. The government has proposed lowering the minimum age limit from 21 to 18, while the maximum age limit will remain at 40. Additionally, preparations are underway to increase the loan limit from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Young entrepreneurs will now be able to access interest-free loans of up to ₹15 lakh, up from the previous limit of ₹7.5 lakh.

How does this scheme work?
Phase 1: A loan of up to ₹5 lakh is provided, with a 6-month moratorium; the loan must be repaid within 4 years.
Phase 2: Upon the repayment of the initial loan, a 50% interest subsidy is granted, and the beneficiary becomes eligible for a subsequent loan of up to ₹15 lakh.
