There is a big update for cooking gas users. Special rules have come for people who get an LPG cylinder subsidy. Now, you must do this to continue getting the subsidy on cooking gas. If you don’t, you will stop getting the money.
The country’s oil companies have made e-KYC verification mandatory for 14.2 kg LPG cylinders used in homes. Customers must do online biometric Aadhaar verification every year to get the subsidy. If KYC is not done, the central government subsidy on cooking gas will stop.
How to Update LPG e-KYC
Customers of Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, and Bharat Petroleum can update their e-KYC using the company’s mobile app. They can also visit the gas distributor’s office or use the verification app provided by the delivery person. There is no charge for this service.

What Happens If You Don’t Do KYC
The central government gives a subsidy on LPG cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. A maximum of 9 cylinders are subsidized every year. If you don’t complete your KYC, the subsidy for the 8th and 9th cylinders will be held back.
If you do e-KYC before March 31, your subsidy money will be refunded. But if you don’t update your KYC by that date, the subsidy will be canceled.
However, there will be no problem in getting LPG cylinders — only the subsidy amount will stop.
