LIC is offering the Golden Jubilee Scholarship, under which 10th and 12th-pass students will get financial assistance of up to ₹ 40,000 every year. This scholarship has been started especially with the aim of encouraging students from weaker income groups to pursue higher education and employment. Who will get the benefit of the LIC scholarship
The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship is for those students who are economically weaker (EWS) and want to continue their higher education. Students studying in these courses can avail themselves of this scholarship:
- Medical and Engineering
- BDS, BDS
- Degree and Diploma Courses
- ITI (Industrial Training Institute)
If a student starts receiving a stipend under an internship before the completion of the course, he/she will stop receiving the scholarship amount.
How much will be given for which course
The amount of scholarship varies depending on the course and qualification:
Medical
After passing 12th, students studying in medical courses like MBBS, BAMS, and BHMS will get assistance of ₹40,000 every year.
Engineering
For engineering courses like BE, BTech, and BArch, ₹30,000 will be given annually, which will be given in two installments.
BDS
Students doing dental surgery will be given a total scholarship of ₹40,000 in two installments.
Degree, Diploma, and ITI
Students studying in these courses after 12th will get ₹20,000 annually.
Special Girls Scholarship
Girls pursuing ITI, 12th, or Diploma courses after 10th will get assistance of ₹15,000 every year.
Eligibility Criteria and Last Date of Application
There are some conditions to apply for this scholarship:
- The annual income of the family should be less than ₹4,50,000.
- 10th pass students who have scored more than 60% marks in the academic session 2022-23, 2023-24, or 2024-25 can apply.
- 12th pass students who have secured more than 60% marks in the academic session 2022-23, 2023-24, or 2024-25 and have taken admission for higher education can apply.
The last date to apply for this scholarship is 22 September 2025. Interested and eligible students can apply through the official website of LIC.
