Indian Railways has taken a big step to give passengers a unique travel experience. In collaboration with IRCTC, now traditional and delicious vegetarian dishes of Jammu and Kashmir will be served to the passengers in the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express. This new initiative is not limited to just food, but it aims to connect the passengers with the local culture and taste during the journey itself. This service has started from Sunday, and now your journey will not be just a means to reach the destination, but will become a memorable experience.

The passengers were warmly welcomed at Katra station and were told about the new menu. During this, the passengers were served dishes like Jammu’s famous Rajma, Kashmiri Pulao, Babru, Amber, and fresh apples. The passengers praised the quality and taste of these dishes. IRCTC Chairman Harjot Singh Sandhu said that his goal is for passengers to experience the local culture and taste even before reaching their destination.

Modernity in the kitchen and packaging

For this new service, a state-of-the-art and clean kitchen has been prepared in Vande Bharat. Along with this, the packaging of food has also been modernized. Now, airline-style Teflon-coated casseroles and eco-friendly coir trays will be used instead of aluminum files and plastic. Trained staff and professional supervisors will constantly monitor to ensure the quality and hygiene of the food.

Special menu for passengers

The new menu of Vande Bharat has taken full care of the preferences of the passengers. Breakfast includes Jammu Paratha, Babru, and Kahwa. Paneer Chaman, Kashmiri Dum Aloo, and Jammu Rajma will be served for lunch. Traditional Dogra dishes like Amber Pumpkin are also a special attraction. Along with these special dishes, popular options like Upma, Poha, and Vegetarian Cutlet will also be available.

New Vande Bharat Express

Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express is historic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express on June 6. This train has proved to be a historic achievement, connecting Srinagar to the rest of the country’s rail network. Its commercial operation started the very next day. Initially, it served the standard menu of IRCTC. But now this new initiative has made this journey even more special.
