Indian Railways: Good news for railway passengers. In light of the growing demand for train travel during the summer holidays, the Railways has made a significant decision to enhance passenger comfort. To accommodate the increased number of travelers, various train services will temporarily introduce additional classes of coaches. This initiative aims to alleviate pressure, particularly for those journeying over long distances.
Railway officials have announced that sleeper, general, and AC class coaches will be added to several key trains in April. This measure is expected to minimize waiting lists and guarantee that passengers secure confirmed tickets. The Delhi Sarai-Udaipur City-Delhi Sarai train (train numbers 20473/20474) will be supplemented with two extra sleeper coaches departing from Delhi Sarai from April 1 to 30, and from Udaipur City from April 2 to May 1. Likewise, the Ajmer-Amritsar-Ajmer train (train numbers 19611/19614 and 19613/19612) will see one additional sleeper coach added from Ajmer from April 1 to 13, and from Amritsar from April 2 to 14.
Daily commuters will benefit from
the temporary addition of one sleeper coach to the Ajmer-Bandra Terminus Special Train (09621/09622) from Ajmer from April 5 to 12 and from Bandra from April 6 to 13. The Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Jan Shatabdi (12065/12066) will also have one AC chair car coach added from April 1 to 29, enhancing convenience for daily travelers.
The Jodhpur-Indore-Jodhpur train (14801/14802) is also undergoing significant modifications. This train will feature two additional sleeper coaches and three general coaches from Jodhpur from April 1st to April 30th, and from Indore from April 4th to May 30th.
Furthermore, the Ajmer-Agra Fort (22987/22988) train will receive two general-purpose coaches throughout April. The Ajmer-Sealdah-Ajmer train (12987/12988) will also see a temporary addition of one first and one second-AC coach.
Sleeper coaches are being added to the Ajmer-Bandra Terminus and Ajmer-Solapur special trains (09653/09654 and 09627/09628). Additionally, the Madar-Rewari-Madar train service (19617/19618) will experience an increase of five general class coaches throughout the month.
