Hyundai is getting ready with a proper game plan for the compact car segment in India, and in the coming years, the customers can look forward to an interesting flurry of new models. Whether you are due for an upgrade or want a first car, Hyundai’s next step may be worth the wait.
Hyundai Bayon-Based SUV
Hyundai is rumored to launch a new sub-four-metre compact SUV in India, which will sit in between the Venue and Creta. The model will likely draw inspiration from the Bayon, which is currently available overseas. Though official information remains a secret for now, it is anticipated to be placed in the sub-four-metre segment and provide a distinct identity to differentiate itself from other models.
New Generation Hyundai Venue On Its Way
One of the most awaited updates in Hyundai’s compact car plan is the next-generation Venue, expected to arrive by the end of 2025. Spy images hint at a sharper and more modern exterior design inspired by the updated Creta, while changes to the interior are also in the pipeline.
The new Venue will be produced at Hyundai’s just-acquired Talegaon plant, marking an important milestone in the company’s expansion plan. Under the bonnet, nothing is likely to change, with the well-known engine choices—1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel—expected to remain.
Interior Enhancements To Make The Venue Competitive
The updated Venue could come with better cabin quality through higher-tiered materials and technology features. This is done to make it competitive in a rapidly changing segment. While competitors are getting stronger in value and feature promise, Hyundai will also look to update the Venue’s comfort and feature content to keep pace with elevated expectations.
Hyundai Inster EV To Target Electric SUV Buyers
Hyundai is also developing a new compact electric SUV inspired by the international Inster EV. The model will probably emphasize urban utility, small dimensions, and affordability to appeal to customers seeking an affordable electric variant.
When launched, this EV will compete directly with the Tata Punch EV, trying to entice consumers who desire a small but cutting-edge electric SUV.
Venue EV & i10 EV
Alongside the Inster EV, Hyundai is also reportedly working on electric variants of the Venue and the Grand i10 Nios. These additions will further strengthen the brand’s footprint in India’s growing EV segment, especially in the compact space.
While launch timelines are not officially confirmed, all three electric models are part of Hyundai’s broader plan to introduce six EVs as part of its 26-model India pipeline.
