Hydrogen Train- India’s First Hydrogen Train is Ready to Run, Major Update is Here

Hydrogen Train

Hydrogen Train: The upcoming year may surprise rail travelers and the railway industry. Preparations for the nation’s first hydrogen train are almost finished. The fuel station for the hydrogen train is also close to completion, and safety tests are currently in progress. In the meantime, the railways have successfully conducted the first trial run of the hydrogen train,

which occurred between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana, where the train achieved a speed of 85 km/h. Sources indicate that any technical issues will be assessed based on this trial. Additional trials will be carried out to ensure the train complies with all required standards and is cleared for regular service.

Will start with 10 coaches According to reports, the hydrogen train era is set to commence in the railways. This train, constructed in Chennai, will consist of 10 coaches, with eight designated for passengers. Each coach will have the capacity to hold around 100 passengers. In response to increasing pollution levels, India is introducing the world’s longest hydrogen train. This train will operate between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana.

Its standout feature is that it will run without producing any smoke. Previously, hydrogen trains in Germany were introduced with just two coaches. Railway sources state that this train will be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 105 km per hour and can cover approximately 360 km in a single day.

Features of hydrogen train A hydrogen plant has been established in Jind, where green hydrogen will be generated through electrolysis. This train has been developed entirely within the country. It will be the longest broad-gauge hydrogen train in the world. It will have a power capacity of 2,400 kilowatts and will include two driving power cars, each with a capacity of 1,200 kilowatts. The most notable aspect of this train is its zero carbon emissions.
