Good news for Aadhaar Card holder’s. After getting married, women often change their last names, and that usually means their addresses change too. This can lead to some headaches since updating names and addresses on official documents can be a bit tricky.

But if you need to update your address on your Aadhaar card after tying the knot, it’s actually pretty simple. You can do it right from home without much hassle. Just head over to the official UIDAI website. Look for the Aadhaar update option.

You’ll need to enter your Aadhaar number and the mobile number linked to it. After that, an OTP will be sent to your phone. Choose the Update Address option and fill in your new address. Don’t forget to upload a scanned copy of a valid address proof. You’ll receive a URN message on your phone, and you’ll also need to upload your marriage certificate for the address change. Once everything is verified, your new address will be updated on your Aadhaar card.

Head over to the Aadhaar center to make the change

If you need to update the address on your wife’s Aadhaar card, take her along to the closest Aadhaar card center. Ask the operator there for the update form to change the address. Fill out the required details in the form, including the new address. Don’t forget to attach a copy of your Aadhaar card as proof of address.
