The government has announced big relief for people who travel on national highways. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently said that annual toll passes will be available across the country from August 15. According to the new rule, people will get 200 trips free for the whole year by paying ₹3000. This scheme will help those who regularly pass through toll plazas.

Annual FASTag Toll Pass Available from August 15, 2025
From August 15, 2025, drivers can get an annual toll pass by paying ₹3000. With this pass, they will not need to pay extra money at 200 toll booths (nakas) across the country. This facility will start nationwide from the same date.
Pass Valid for One Year or 200 Trips
The annual toll pass will be valid for one year and allows 200 free trips.
- If you use all 200 trips before the year ends, you will need to recharge the pass again.
- If one year is over and some trips are left, the pass will still expire after the year ends.
How to Recharge the Pass
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that it usually costs around ₹10,000 for 200 toll trips. But under this new scheme, it will cost only ₹3000, saving about ₹7000 for regular drivers.
You can recharge the annual FASTag toll pass only through:
- NHAI’s official website
- Highway Yatra mobile app
Note: Right now, you cannot recharge this pass through UPI apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm.
