- After this you will see the option of Update Aadhaar Online, you will have to click on it.
- Now select the address option and go to proceed.
- In the next step you will have to enter your new address. After this, select the post office and upload the scanned copy of the address proof.
- After checking the details, now you have to pay the fee of Rs 50 and submit it.
- After submitting the fees, you will get a service request number, through which you can track the status.
Which documents are valid
UIDAI recognizes more than 15 address proof documents. These include passport, bank statement, ration card, voter ID, gas, electricity and water bills which should not be more than 3 months old, insurance policy, property tax receipt and rent agreement. Apart from this, you may also need an identity card like PAN card, passport or voter ID to change the address in Aadhaar card.
How to download new Aadhaar after address is updated
- After the address is updated in the Aadhaar card, to download it, click on Download Aadhaar on the UIDAI website.
- After this you will have to enter Aadhar number, captcha code and OTP.
- Now you will see the option of Verify and Download, you have to click on it. After this you will see the option of PDF download, through this you can download the PDF of the Aadhar card.
- This downloaded e-Aadhaar is valid everywhere. If you want a physical copy, you can also ask for a reprint from UIDAI for Rs 50.
