MP Monsoon Alert: With the arrival of the monsoon in Madhya Pradesh, a period of heavy rainfall has begun. Continuous rain in many areas has exacerbated the situation. Due to heavy rains, the roads have turned into rivers. At the same time, traffic is also being disrupted due to waterlogging around villages and towns.
Vegetable farmers have suffered heavy losses to their crops. Waterlogging has caused heavy damage to vegetable crops. Heavy rains are occurring in the areas of Gwalior and Chambal, where people have got relief from the scorching heat due to the drop in temperature.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a warning of torrential rain has been issued in more than 20 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Strong winds may also continue in these areas. Below is an overview of the weather in various regions.
Possibility of heavy rain in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rain has been issued in 17 districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Rewa Sambhav for the next few hours. A heavy rain warning has also been issued in Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, and Jabalpur. On Saturday, a maximum rainfall of 3 inches was recorded in many places, providing relief from the heat due to the drop in temperature.
A heavy rain warning has also been issued in Khujraho, Sagar, Chhindwara, Dhar, and Guna. Heavy rain is also expected in Narmadapuram, Damoh, Mandla, and Naugaon. Rain is expected in Umaria, Balaghat. Strong winds are also likely in these areas, providing people with relief from the heat.
Rain alert till June 26
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the low-pressure area and trough system have become active in the state. Heavy rain is expected in many districts of North and East Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, floods and waterlogging are expected in sensitive areas. Farmers and travellers have also been advised to exercise caution here
Anyway, the thunder of clouds in these areas can become a problem for the people. At the same time, the maximum rainfall of 66.7 mm was recorded in Guna in the last 24 hours. The least rainfall, at 45 mm, was recorded in Shivpuri.
