HDFC Credit Card Update: If you have HDFC Bank’s Regalia Gold or Diners Privilege credit cards, your convenience and wallet will be impacted. The bank has revised the rules regarding reward points, international transaction fees, and airport lounge access. This article will provide you with the information needed to maximize your credit card usage and plan your future expenses.
Changes to Reward Points Starting May 15
For those with the Regalia Gold credit card, the way you earn reward points is changing. Previously, customers earned 4 reward points for every Rs 150 spent. However, beginning May 15, 2026, you will earn 5 reward points for every Rs 200 spent. While it seems like the points have increased, the reward rate per rupee will actually decrease.
Increased Fees for Transactions and Card Replacement
The bank has raised the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) markup to 1.75%. This fee will apply to international transactions made in Indian rupees. Additionally, if your Regalia Gold card is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will incur a replacement fee of Rs 199.
Changes to Airport Lounge Access
Starting July 1, 2026, airport lounge access will no longer be entirely free. For both Regalia Gold and Diners Privilege cardholders, lounge access will depend on your spending in the previous quarter. You will need to spend at least Rs 60,000 in the prior quarter to gain lounge access in the current quarter. For instance, to access a lounge in the July-September quarter, you must spend Rs 60,000 during the April-June period.
Lounge Access Rules for Regalia Gold and Diners Privilege
Regalia Gold cardholders will be entitled to three domestic lounge visits per quarter if they meet the spending criteria. Diners Privilege cardholders will receive three vouchers, which include two domestic and one international lounge visit. To obtain these vouchers, Diners Privilege customers must use the SmartBuy platform.
New features launched
The bank has introduced the Travel Edge program for Regalia Gold cardholders. Under this program, customers can avail of two perks every quarter by uploading their boarding pass. These include a free spa at partner hotels, airport transfers up to Rs 750 via Uber, a free buffet meal, and hotel room upgrades.
Fees and renewal terms
The annual fee for Regalia Gold is Rs 2,500 plus taxes, which is waived upon spending Rs 400,000 annually. The Diners Privilege fee is Rs 1,000, which is waived upon spending Rs 300,000 annually.
