PM KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI YOJANA – An announcement may be made regarding an increase in the annual amount provided under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. There are discussions that the government may increase the amount under this scheme to Rs. 10,000. Currently, the government provides Rs. 6,000 annually in three instalments.

If the total amount of the scheme is increased by Rs. 4,000, it will be good news. This will benefit small and marginal farmers. The central government may make this announcement in the Union Budget. The 22nd instalment may also reflect this increased amount. The Ministry of Agriculture has not yet given any indication regarding this. These discussions are currently circulating in media reports.

When can the announcement be made?

The central government may announce increaseease in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana amount in the Union Budget. The Union Budget is likely to be presented on February 1, 2026. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget, and everyone will be watching her speech closely.

Farmers are already looking forward to the budget with hopes of relief. If the annual amount becomes Rs. 10,000, then the instalment amount could be increased to four instinstalmentsRs. 2,500 each.

The instalment would then be provided every three months. Currently, the instalment amount is provided after every four months. According to a report, approximately 12 crore farmers are registered under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Which farmers will not receive the benefit?

There are certain conditions for joining the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Only small and marginal farmers are eligible. This scheme does not apply to individuals holding any constitutional post. If someone in your household holds a constitutional post and your name is linked to the scheme, you should immediately have your name removed.

Even if you are a current or former member of the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, Legislative Assembly, or Legislative Council, you will not be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. Current or former mayors of municipal corporations or chairpersons of district panchayats are also ineligible. Retired employees of any government institution will also not be able to avail this benefit.
