Lakhpati Didi Yojana: The Indian government is continuously launching new schemes to empower women economically. Today’s women are not limited to household responsibilities; they are making their mark in various sectors such as business, startups, agriculture, dairy, and the service sector. Continuing this approach, the government has launched a special scheme for women, called the Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
This scheme has emerged as a great support for women who want to start their own businesses or dream of expanding their small businesses. Under this scheme, women are given interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs, so that lack of funds does not hinder their path to self-reliance.

Learn the details of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana
The objective of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana is to make women economically strong and self-reliant. Under this scheme, women associated with self-help groups receive interest-free loans. Women can use this amount to start self-employment, set up a small industry, or expand their existing business. The government provides interest subsidies on this loan, so women do not have to worry about paying extra interest.
This is why this scheme proves to be more beneficial than regular bank loans. Women can avail financial assistance through this scheme for various activities such as farming, animal husbandry, dairy, food processing, handicrafts, and the service sector.
Who can benefit from the scheme?
Only women who are members of a recognised self-help group can avail the benefits of this scheme. The government is not limited to just providing loans; women are also given the necessary skill training. The aim is to enable women to build a strong and sustainable business with proper training. The scheme aims to increase women’s annual income and make them millionaires (Lakhpati), so they are also assisted in connecting with the market and selling their products.
