Employees Advance Salary: There is good news for the government employees of Chandigarh. The employees appointed on contract, guest, outsourced and DC rate in various departments of Chandigarh Administration have been given the gift of Diwali festival. The administration has decided to release the salary of these employees in their accounts by 17 October instead of November.

Along with this, any adjustment regarding leave has also been asked to be included in the next month. In this regard, orders have been issued to all the departments by the Finance Department on the instructions of the UT Administrator and Chief Secretary. In an order issued by the Finance Department of the Chandigarh Administration to the heads of all departments and offices, it has been stated that all the above departments should promptly settle the bills related to their contract/guest/outsourcing and DC rate based employees to ensure that the salaries of employees in these categories are paid before or by October 17. If there is any problem with the attendance of any employee, it should be adjusted and settled in the next month’s salary.

Bonus has also been announced

Before Diwali, the Chandigarh Administration announced a non-productivity-linked bonus (ad-hoc bonus) for its employees, similar to the one provided to central government employees. This bonus will be payable for the year 2024-25. According to an order issued by the Finance Department (Accounts Branch), this bonus will be given to all Group C and non-gazetted Group B employees who are not covered under any productivity-linked bonus scheme.

This bonus will be equivalent to 30 days’ salary, with a maximum monthly payment limit of Rs 7,000. This decision was taken in accordance with the order issued by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, on September 29, 2025. This benefit will be provided to eligible employees of the Union Territory of Chandigarh on the same conditions as outlined in the Central Government orders.
