The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new scheme to help the youth get self-employment and make livestock farmers financially strong. This scheme is part of the ‘National Livestock Mission’. Under it, special financial support is given to promote goat farming. The main goal of this scheme is to create new jobs through animal farming in rural and semi-urban areas.
Goat Farming Scheme: Loan and Subsidy Benefits
The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new scheme to help people get self-employment and make livestock farmers financially strong. Under this scheme, eligible people can get a loan of up to ₹1 crore. They can also get a subsidy of up to 50% on the total cost of a goat farm. This support is for those who want to start a farm with 100 to 500 goats. The aim is to help farmers earn more and learn modern ways of goat rearing.
To get this scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh. They should have some training in goat farming. They must have enough land, water, and basic resources to start the farm. It is also required to make a detailed project report (DPR) and submit a training certificate from the Animal Husbandry Department. People can apply individually, through self-help groups (SHGs), or through cooperative institutions. This makes it possible for more people to benefit.
This scheme is important because it helps create jobs and makes the rural economy stronger. It gives farmers a chance to earn more from agriculture. Goat farming is a good business because it can give high profits compared to the money invested. It is also very suitable for women and young people who want to start their own business.
