Hello friends! In this article, we are going to discuss how you can apply for a new PAN card from home using the UTI portal in five minutes. The application process is completely digital, and it is not necessary to send physical documents in the mail. You can complete the application process simply by using an OTP sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card.

Digital PAN Card Application Details

There are two ways to apply for a PAN card from the UTI portal – physical and digital.

In physical mode, you have to fill the form, attach the necessary documents, and submit it to the nearest UTI office.

In digital mode, you do not need to submit any documents.

Important Information About Digital Mode

Aadhaar-based e-KYC: Your Aadhaar information is automatically verified, so the application process is much faster.

Who Can Apply: Any Indian citizen above 18 years can apply. This process is not available for minors (below 18 years).

Photo and Signature: The photo from your Aadhaar will be used on the PAN card. There will be no signature on the card, but a space will be provided to sign after receiving it.

Application Fee: The fee is Rs 106.90, payable through UPI, debit card, or net banking.

Application Process

  1. Portal Visit: Search “UTI PAN Card” on Google and go to the official UTI portal.
  2. Application Form (Form 49A): Click on “Apply for New PAN Card (Form 49A).”
  3. Mode Selection: Choose Digital Mode and then Aadhaar-based e-KYC.
  4. Personal Information: Fill in your name, father’s name, date of birth, and Aadhaar number.
  5. Contact Information: Enter your mobile number and email ID.
  6. Document Upload: No document is needed in digital mode.
  7. Payment: Pay the application fee.
  8. Aadhaar OTP Verification: Verify with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  9. E-Sign: Complete the e-sign process using Aadhaar OTP.
  10. After completing the process, your e-PAN card will be sent to your email within 24 hours, and the physical PAN card will reach your address by post in a few days.

Some Important Points

Sometimes the Aadhaar OTP may not come the first time. Don’t panic. Go to “Regenerate Online PAN Application” and generate the OTP again using your application number and date of birth.

Instant PAN cards can be generated from both NSDL and UTI portals. On NSDL, e-PAN usually comes within 1–2 hours, while on UTI, it may take a little longer.
