The Bihar government started the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana to help women earn money. On September 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sent the first ₹10,000 directly to the bank accounts of 7.5 million women. This money will help women start small businesses or self-employment. More than 14 million women will get this help. The process will run from October 3 to December 26, 2025. The money will be sent only on Fridays.
The main goal is to make women independent by giving them self-employment chances in Bihar. All eligible women get ₹10,000 first. After six months, they may get up to ₹2 lakh more, based on their progress. Women will also get simple training in business and entrepreneurship to help them grow their business. Self-help groups and village organizations are running this program.
Eligibility and How to Apply
This scheme will help women who live in Bihar and are between 18 and 60 years old. Only one woman per family can take benefit. If a family member is a government employee, pensioner, or pays income tax, that family cannot use this scheme. Training is also needed to get the benefits.
To apply, women must first join a Jeevika Self Help Group. Women who are already members do not need to apply again. Others can fill the form at their village organization, or urban women can apply online at https://mmry.brlps.in/. The online form asks for Aadhaar card, bank passbook, mobile number, and other documents. The process is simple and clear so many women can benefit.
Payments and Future Support
The government will send money every Friday. From October 3, ₹10,000 will be sent to women’s bank accounts every Friday. If a woman’s business does well, she may get more financial help. There will also be training and other programs to support lasting self-employment. This scheme helps women in Bihar become independent and strong financially.
