If you cancel a ticket 48 hours before chart preparation
This is the option with the lowest deduction:
Sleeper Class:- ₹120 deduction.
AC Chair Car/3AC (3rd AC):- ₹180 deduction.
2AC (2nd AC)/1AC (1st AC)/Executive:- ₹240 deduction.
If you cancel between 48 hours and 12 hours
A 25% deduction is applied to the total ticket amount. This is for those who cancel close to the last minute but still want some money back.
If canceled between 12 hours to 4 hours
Up to 50% deduction can be made in this case. This is a significant deduction, so if you are not travelling make sure to cancel at least 4 hours before chart preparation.
If the ticket is in Waiting or RAC
A full refund is given in such cases, provided the ticket is canceled up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the train. This rule is a big relief for passengers who have not been able to get a confirmed seat.
If the train is canceled
