Free LPG Cylinder: Good news for women. On Diwali, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given another gift to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana. Instead of one, Rs 1,830 will be given for refilling two LPG cylinders. Rs 915 will be given for refilling one cylinder, and Rs 915 for refilling the second.
On Wednesday, the Chief Minister launched the scheme from Lucknow, while Rural Assembly MLA Vipin Singh distributed symbolic subsidy checks to the beneficiary women at the Vikas Bhawan in Gorakhpur. The entire amount will be transferred to the beneficiary women’s bank accounts. The Chief Minister’s program was broadcast live from the Vikas Bhawan auditorium.
There are 293,000 beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana in the district. MLA Vipin Singh said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has provided women with the facility to refill additional LPG cylinders at subsidized rates to free them from smoke. This is a significant initiative. The Chief Minister takes full care of the health and needs of half the population. Additional District Magistrate (Finance) Vineet Kumar Singh and Senior Supply Inspector Arun Singh were present during the event.
This is how the subsidy is received
Beneficiaries will have to pay cash to have their cylinders refilled. The amount will then be transferred to their bank accounts through Aadhaar-based payment. The cost of a cooking gas cylinder in the district is Rs 915, with Rs 359 being borne by the central government and Rs 556 by the state government.
Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 is going to start
District Supply Officer Ramendra Pratap Singh stated that the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 is about to launch. Eligible individuals who have not yet received a cooking gas connection and stove under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana can apply online by visiting the relevant gas agency.
Eligibility Criteria
Scheduled Caste families, Scheduled Tribe families, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Most Backward Classes, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Tea and ex-tea garden tribes, forest dwellers, people living in islands and river islands, etc. The woman must have attained the age of 18 years and there should not be any other LPG connection in the same family.
