Free Bijli Yojana: Big relief for common people. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a portal developed for registering electricity consumers for the 150-unit-per-month free electricity scheme at a program held at the JECC on Monday. State Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was also present on the occasion. The portal was developed by Rajasthan Discoms.

Free Bijli Yojana Apply Online This scheme is a unique initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma towards making the electricity consumers of the state energy providers through cheap and accessible solar energy. In the budget of the year 2025-26, the state government had made an important announcement of 150 units per month free electricity scheme by leveraging it with the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme with the intention of giving more benefits to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.

In the first phase of implementation of this announcement, registered consumers of the Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme can get themselves registered through https://www.energy.rajasthan.gov.in/Jvvnl , https://www.energy.rajasthan.gov.in/Jdvvnl , https://www.energy.rajasthan.gov.in/avvnl and the web portal BijliMitra.

On the first day of the portal’s launch, 6,864 registered consumers of the Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme had agreed to install rooftop solar panels on their roofs under the 150-unit free electricity scheme. These included 3,570 consumers from Jaipur Discom, 1,975 from Ajmer Discom, and 1,319 from Jodhpur Discom.

These eligible consumers will then install rooftop solar panels on their roofs through vendors registered on the PM Suryaghar portal. Each such consumer will receive financial assistance of ₹33,000 per plant (maximum ₹78,000 for up to 3 kW capacity) from the Government of India for a 1.1 kW solar panel under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme. Rajasthan DISCOMs will also provide additional financial assistance of ₹17,000 per plant under the 150 units per month free electricity scheme.

This will make the 1.1 kW panel completely free. Consumers not registered under the Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme can select vendors through the PM Suryaghar portal and install their own rooftop solar panels. They will only receive central financial assistance as per regulations.
