There’s great news for FASTag users. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has simplified the KYV (No YOY Vehicle) process. Your FASTag service won’t be terminated, even if your KYC isn’t complete. All you need to do is upload a front photo of your vehicle. The system will automatically retrieve your vehicle’s registration certificate (RC) from the Vahan database. If you encounter any problems, your bank will contact you and offer assistance.

Now, everything can be done with just one photo

Previously, the FASTag service would be terminated if your KYV wasn’t completed, but that won’t happen anymore. The Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) has made several significant changes to this new process. You’ll be given ample time to complete your KYV. Your service won’t be terminated abruptly.

Previously, you had to upload multiple photos of your vehicle, but now this hassle is over. Car, jeep, or van owners will no longer need to provide a side photo of their vehicle. All you need is a front photo of the vehicle, clearly showing the FASTag and the vehicle’s number plate. If multiple vehicles are linked to the same mobile number, you can easily select the vehicle for which you wish to perform KYV.

For those whose FASTags were issued before the KYV policy was introduced, they will continue to function as before. They may face problems only if the bank receives a complaint regarding misuse or a loose tag. If your KYC is pending, you will receive an SMS alert from the issuing bank. If you experience any difficulty uploading documents or completing your KYC yourself, NHAI has instructed banks to step in and assist you. You can call the National Highway Helpline number 1033 to report your complaints and learn the correct procedure.

Fastag Toll Payment New Rule

FASTags are very convenient

It should be noted that FASTags are card-like and are placed on the vehicle’s windscreen. It uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to automatically pay tolls. This eliminates the need to stop at toll plazas and pay cash. Using a FASTag saves time at toll plazas, reduces traffic congestion, and reduces pollution. The new Know Your Vehicle rule is a welcome relief for FASTag users.
