The facility of the FASTag Annual Pass has been started in the country from 15 August 2025. The central government says that with the help of this pass, passengers will get great relief in toll tax and their journey will become even easier. Under this scheme, now only Rs 15 will have to be paid at every toll. The government claims that this pass will be available for just Rs 3000, and it will save up to Rs 7000 annually.

The process of activating the FASTag Annual Pass is very easy. For this, the car owner will neither need to buy a new FASTag nor get a separate card made. This facility will be available on your existing FASTag itself. After the payment is confirmed, this pass will be activated within just two hours.

Where can you activate

The annual pass can be activated only from the Rajmargyatra mobile app and the official portal of NHAI. The vehicle owner will first have to verify the eligibility of the FASTag installed on his vehicle. As soon as the verification is completed, an annual fee of Rs 3000 will have to be paid. After the payment is made, the pass will be immediately linked to your FASTag account.

Validity and usage limit

The validity of this annual pass will be up to one year. However, there is also a condition in this that if you cross 200 tolls, then the validity of the pass will end there, even if one year is not completed. In this way, this scheme is especially beneficial for those passengers who travel frequently over long distances.

What to keep in mind

The benefit of the FASTag annual pass will be available only when your FASTag is in the right condition and properly affixed on the windshield of the vehicle. This pass will be valid only for those vehicles whose registration number is correct and which are not blacklisted. Apart from this, this scheme will be applicable only on toll booths operated by the Central Government. It cannot be used on toll plazas run by state governments or other agencies.
