Virat Kohli is one of the most aggressive and passionate leaders in world cricket. As captain, he gave his team confidence and fearlessness. He changed Indian cricket, especially in Test matches, by building a strong fast-bowling attack, backing his players, and creating the belief that India can win anywhere in the world. Along with his batting, Kohli also became famous for his brilliant fielding.

Since the start of the IPL in 2008, Kohli has been the face of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Whether in the inner circle or on the boundary, he has proved himself as a reliable fielder. He has taken 116 catches in 258 matches, the most by any fielder in IPL history.

Kohli has safe hands and quick reflexes. He has taken many sharp and tough catches, whether in the circle or on the boundary. Fans still remember his famous catch against Brendon McCullum in 2016, where he ran back from cover and dived to take it perfectly.

Here are three of his best catches in the IPL:

1. RCB vs KKR (2018)

In Bengaluru, Kohli took a stunning catch to dismiss Dinesh Karthik, who was on 23 runs from 10 balls. In the 19th over, Karthik tried to hit Mohammed Siraj straight down the ground. Kohli ran fast from long-on, dived full length to his left, and caught the ball just before it hit the ground. The catch was world-class, but RCB still lost as KKR chased 176 and won by six wickets.

2. RCB vs PBKS (2018)

In another match of 2018, this time against Punjab Kings, Kohli showed why he is such a safe fielder. In the 18th over, Andrew Tye tried to go big against Chris Woakes but only managed an edge. Kohli sprinted from long-on, moved to his left, and took the catch cleanly. This moment became even more special as his wife Anushka Sharma was in the stands cheering for him.

3. RCB vs CSK (2021)

In Sharjah, during a match against Chennai Super Kings, Kohli took another brilliant catch. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was batting on 38, mistimed a shot off Yuzvendra Chahal. Kohli reacted quickly at backward point, ran to his left, and dived forward to complete the catch. It broke CSK’s 71-run opening stand, but Chennai still won the match by six wickets, chasing 157 in 18.1 overs.
