EPFO UAN Activate- Big news for common people. UAN number is very important in PF. Without this, you may face difficulty in doing PF related work. PF is important for every employed person. Because a part of the salary is deposited in PF. On August 1, EPFO has made FAT (Face Authentication Technology) mandatory through Umang app to activate UAN number.

When you change jobs, you have to share your UAN with the new employer so that your previous balance can be transferred to the new account. If you want to check your PF balance, you will have to activate your UAN first. After activating UAN, you can check your PF balance online. 

How to Activate UAN Number?

For this, first of all you will need the Umang app. If you do not have the Umang app, then download it from the Play Store.

Step 1- First of all you have to download Umang app from Play Store and login into it.

Step 2- Now go to the UAN Allotment option here.

Step 3- After this, some personal information will be asked from you. Like Aadhaar number, mobile number etc.

Step 4- Now click on the check box given for Aadhaar verification.

Step 5- Now click on the Send OTP option. Now enter the OTP received on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.

Step 6- Now take photo from Aadhaar Face RD app.

Step 7- Finally your UAN number will be generated and sent to you through message.

Universal Account Number (UAN) is a 12 digit unique number. It is a permanent number and is valid for the entire lifetime of the EPFO member. If you are a salaried employee and PF is deducted from your salary every month, then you must be familiar with UAN. Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is deposited in the PF account of the employees through UAN.
