EPFO New Feature – Check PF Balance, Last 5 Transactions & Claim Status on WhatsApp

PF Balance Check: Salaried employees are set to receive a new facility soon, which will make their lives significantly easier. Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will very soon be able to access transaction details using WhatsApp. Additionally, they will be able to check their PF balance and avail themselves of other services directly through WhatsApp.

Consequently, there will no longer be a need to repeatedly log in to the EPFO website or other applications to check one’s PF balance or track the status of claims. Once this new feature is launched, individuals will be able to access essential PF-related information on their mobile phones within just a few seconds. This will result in significant time savings for the users.

What Information Will Be Available on WhatsApp?
Employees will be able to view various essential details regarding their PF accounts directly on WhatsApp. This includes their current PF balance, the last five transactions, claim status, and other vital account-related information. If an employee has applied for a PF withdrawal or filed an advance claim—and the request is currently pending—they will receive status updates directly on WhatsApp.

How to Receive EPF Updates on WhatsApp?
If you wish to avail yourself of these services on WhatsApp, simply type ‘Hello’ and send it to the EPFO’s registered WhatsApp number. Following this, you can select the option to receive messages and updates from the EPFO on your registered mobile number. The system will then verify your mobile number and present you with a menu of various service options. Employees can then select the specific option that meets their requirements to access the desired information.

Assistance from an AI Chatbot
This new facility will also incorporate an AI-based chatbot. This chatbot will operate 24 hours a day, allowing employees to seek assistance with PF transfers, profile updates, pending claims, and Aadhaar linkage issues.

Services Available in Local Languages
The EPFO is currently preparing to launch this service in multiple languages. This will enable users to access information in their own local languages. Prior to the launch of this facility, the EPFO has also issued an advisory urging the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution. Employees have been asked to use only the official and verified WhatsApp number of the EPFO.
