New Delhi: If someone in your family is having PF deducted while working, then you need to be aware of the essential details. The EPFO has implemented rules that have significantly reduced the front. Earlier, PF employees used to go to cyber cafes or unauthorised agents to get most of their work done, who would charge for the free work.

Please note that this is not going to happen at this time. PF employees can now work online independently from home. You too will not be able to pay fees to anyone in an improper manner without a valid reason. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour and Employment stated that in many cases, unauthorised operators are using the online complaint portal of EPF, which any member can access for free from the comfort of their own home. You can take advantage of digital services.

EPFO clarified

EPFO clarified that PF employees can withdraw money from their account, update their e-KYC, make changes to their profile, or lodge any other complaint free of cost from home. Its process is also standard. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has taken on this task to curb unauthorised operators who charge fees.

This is causing financial loss to PF employees and putting their privacy at risk. EPFO clearly stated that one should not take any facility from a third party, i.e., a cyber cafe or agent. For this, employees should download the Umang app on their mobile or laptop.

Through the Umang app, individuals can utilise EPFO’s online facilities. EPFO has made significant improvements in recent months, enabling the service to be more transparent and efficient. The most important thing is that no employer’s permission is required to improve your profile.

Where to register a complaint

According to the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, EPFO members can register their complaints by visiting the CPGRAMS or EPFiGMS portal. It is monitored until it is resolved promptly. In the financial year 2024-25, a total of 16,01,202 complaints were received in EPFiG, MS and 1,74,328 complaints were received in CPGRAMS. Most importantly,9 per cent of these complaints have been resolved within the time limit.
