Ration Card E-KYC– Big news for Ration Card holders. Investigation of those taking government ration from the depot is starting. The government has come to know that people have got BPL cards made by fraud to take advantage of various government schemes. Most of the people are neither coming to take ration nor have applied for Rs 500 domestic gas cylinder.
The card holder is not taking ration from anywhere else
There are many people who have got BPL cards made in other states as well. They are getting ration from there as well. To identify such people, the government has now made it mandatory for every card holder to get e-KYC done. Its last date is August 5, 2025. This will reveal whether the card holder is taking ration from somewhere else or not. Whether he even lives in the district or not.
Do E-KYC/KYC from home
The special thing is that people can do KYC from their mobile phones while sitting at home. For this, you have to download Mera e-KYC app and then eKYC will be done by showing your face on it. This will let the department know who came to collect ration. Also, all kinds of fraud will stop.
More and more e-KYC will be done
Instructions have been issued to all depot holders in this regard by the Food and Supply Department. Now the depot holders will make the ration card holders aware about this and get as many e-KYC done as possible.
State Food and Supplies Minister Rajesh Nagar had asked for e-KYC so that the real card holders get ration and the fraudsters are automatically excluded. Currently, it is given through biometrics. Now, through this mobile app, any member of the family will be able to go to the depot and get ration.
How to get e-KYC done
Beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act can be registered on the e-KYC mobile application Mera e KYC by doing face authentication. This authentication will be possible through OTP. All the members of the beneficiary family can avail the ration facility after registration through face.
