The Madhya Pradesh government is starting new schemes to help villages, animal farming, and young people. On 14 April 2025, on Ambedkar Jayanti, the government started ‘Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana’.
The aim of this scheme is to help young people start a dairy business and increase milk production. Under this scheme, eligible youth can get a bank loan of Rs 36 to 42 lakh to start a dairy unit with 25 milk animals. They will also get a subsidy of 25% to 33%. This scheme is for unemployed youth who want to make animal farming a permanent business. Here are the full details of the scheme.
Objective and Benefits of the Scheme
The main aim of ‘Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana’ is to increase milk production in Madhya Pradesh and give permanent jobs to rural youth. This scheme is a good chance for young people to start self-employment.
Under this scheme, eligible youth can get a loan of Rs 36–42 lakh to start a dairy unit with 25 milk animals. The government will also give a subsidy of 25% to 33%. The dairy unit must have 25 animals of one breed – either Desi cow, Shankar breed cow, or buffalo.
Eligibility Conditions
This scheme is for youth who meet the rules. The beneficiary should have 25 animals of the same breed. Mixing two breeds is not allowed. The beneficiary should also have at least 3.5 acres of land to build a shed for the animals. The land can be owned by the applicant, a family member, or rented, but it must be in the same tehsil area.
Loan Process and Payment Terms
The loan will be given in three parts. First, money will be released for 8 animals, then for the next 8 animals, and finally for the last 9 animals. The total loan period is 7 years. No interest will be charged for the first 3 years. This helps youth start the business without any financial pressure.
