DA Increase- Good news for state govt employees. State governement gives big surprice to power supply department. Vishnu Dev Sai government of Chhattisgarh has announced a 2 percent increase in their dearness allowance (DA). Till now they were being given 53 percent DA in the state, which has now been increased to 55 percent. The benefit of this decision will reach about 18 thousand employees working in the company and a large number of retired pensioners.

According to the report, this increased DA will be considered effective from January 1, 2025, but it will be paid directly with the salary of April 2025. That is, the employees will not be given the DA due for the three months of January, February and March 2025 together, but in three installments in different months with the salary of April, May and June 2025. With this, the employees will be able to get some extra amount every month, which will provide some relief in their income.
Retired employees will get lump sum payment
The government has also directed that the officers or employees who are retiring between April to June 2025 will be given this arrears of DA in full in the month of their retirement. This has ensured that the retiring employees do not have to wait for any installment.
Overall, this decision of the state government will not only strengthen the financial condition of the employees a bit more, but will also provide some support to their monthly budget amid rising inflation. Many employees working in the power company have welcomed this decision of the government. They say that this decision is no less than a relief amid rising inflation in the present times.
