A new case of cyber fraud has come to light in Madhya Pradesh. This time, the thugs have made a young man their victim by sending a link to the RTO challan. In a village in Niwari district, as soon as the young man opened the fake link received on his mobile, his mobile was hacked, and ₹5,000 was withdrawn from his account. This incident shows that online fraudsters are adopting new methods every day. In such a situation, it is very important to know how you can avoid such fraud.
Lakhs of fraud in the name of RTO challan

This incident happened with Hemraj Prajapati, a resident of Nampura village in Niwari district. Hemraj said that on September 5, a link to issue an RTO challan came on his mobile from an unknown number. As soon as he clicked on that link out of curiosity, his mobile was hacked. Shortly thereafter, a message came that ₹5,000 had been deducted from his bank account.
But the story did not end here. Hackers sent the same fake RTO challan link from his phone to his entire contact list. When Hemraj came to know about this, he immediately called his friends and relatives and warned them not to open that link.
The police are investigating the matter
After falling prey to this fraud, Hemraj Prajapati immediately complained to the police. Gaurav Rajauria, in charge of Theraka police station, said that the police are investigating the matter and the fraudsters will be traced soon.
This is not the only case. Nowadays, cyber criminals are cheating people by using such fake links. Some time ago, a file related to SBI Bank’s KYC was also similarly circulating on social media. On opening, people’s phones were getting hacked, and their money was being stolen.

Keep these things in mind
To avoid cyber fraud, it is most important that you remain alert. If you receive any link related to RTO challan or bank KYC from an unknown number, do not open it at all. Clicking on such a link can install malware or a virus in your phone, due to which hackers can steal all the data of your phone and bank account information.
Always use the official website (such as the transport department website) or app for any government information or challan. Do not trust any unknown link, and also make your friends and family aware of such fraud.
