8th Pay Commission Update: The fortunes of central government employees and pensioners may soon change for the better, as the Modi government is set to give a big gift. How much will the DA increase?
The central government may increase the DA by up to one per cent in the first half of 2026. After this announcement by the government, the DA will increase to per cent. Currently, central government employees are receiving a percentage DA. The central government had increased the DA by a total ppercentageiseconde last half of 2025.

How much will the salary increase?
If the DA of central government employees is increased by 3 per cent, then a substantial increase in salary can be expected. If a central government employee’s salary is Rs. 50,000, then a 3 per cent DA increase wilincrease toof Rs. 1500 per month. This means that the annual salary will increase by a total of Rs. 18,000. When is the 8th Pay Commission likely to be implemented?
The mystery surrounding when the central government will implement the 8th Pay Commission remains unsolved. However, the government has formed the commission. The commission committee is currently reviewing the matter. The committee has been given 18 months to prepare its recommendations. This clearly means that its recommendations can only be implemented sometime in 2027.
