For this business, you need cow dung, dry grass and straw. These things are mixed in the ratio of 60:30:10 and put in the machine. The wood coming out of the machine is wet and soft, which has to be dried in the sun for 5-10 days. After this it is ready for sale. The machine can cost from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 lakh, and you can buy it from a website like Indiamart. Talking about space, an area of 2500 square feet is enough, out of which 1000 square feet should be roofed to keep the machine.
In the initial cost, cow dung is available at Rs 5-11 per kg. Dry straw is available for Rs 2-10 and grass is easily available in villages. If you have a cowshed, then the cost of cow dung can also be saved. Under the Waste to Wealth scheme of the Government of India, up to 35% subsidy can be obtained for this business. For this, you will have to get MSME registration, trade license and NOC from the Pollution Control Board.
There is no need for much marketing, because there is already a demand for cow dung wood. People use it daily in villages, but in cities, good profits can be earned by selling it through social media and e-commerce sites. It takes 3-5 rupees to make 1 kg of cow dung wood, and it can be sold for 6-15 rupees per kg. That is, a profit of 2500-4500 rupees can be made from a cost of Rs 10,000.
