Bullet Train Airport: Preparations are in progress to operate the Namo Bharat Train, also known as Rapid Rail, to Noida International Airport. However, the conversation has now shifted to the bullet train. This issue has come to the attention of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. If the proposal for high-speed rail to Jewar Airport gets the green light, it could significantly transform the airport’s prospects.
Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh has advocated for this high-speed rail connection. He has reached out to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, urging for high-speed rail access to Noida International Airport (NIA). Additionally, he has strongly supported the enhancement of infrastructure and passenger facilities near Chola Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh.
Chola Railway Station is situated within the North Central Railway (NCR) zone. In a letter addressed to the Railway Minister, Dhirendra Singh requested prompt approval for the new railway line proposal. He also asked for major trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani to make stops at Chola Railway Station. The MLA expressed his vision of developing Chola Railway Station, alongside Noida Airport, into a modern multi-transport hub for the communities in Jewar and Anupshahr. Previously, there have been efforts to establish Bodaki Railway Station as a multi-logistics hub.
Noida Airport has been inaugurated
On March 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first phase of Noida Airport. This new airport is anticipated to serve regions including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Etawah, Bulandshahr, and Faridabad. It is being developed as the second international airport in the Delhi-NCR area, following Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Noida International Airport stands as one of the largest greenfield airport initiatives in the nation. The first phase of the airport has been constructed with an investment of around Rs 11,200 crore. The development is being carried out by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a fully-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. The airport is being developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model with the Yogi Adityanath government.

11 new stations of Rapid Rail
The Namo Bharat Rail project includes 11 proposed Namo Bharat stations, including Noida Airport, YEIDA North Sector 18, YEIDA Central Sector 21, Dankaur, Ecotech-6, Alpha First, Surajpur, Greater Noida Sector 12, Sector 2, Ghaziabad South, and Ghaziabad. This project is estimated to cost over 20,000 crore rupees.
Noida, Greater Noida will also be connected
The NCRTC has clarified that there is a change in the route of the Regional Rapid Transit System between Ghaziabad and Noida Airport. The rapid rail is proposed to run via Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida to Noida Airport. This will make it easier for NCR residents to travel to and from Jewar Airport. Like the Delhi Metro Express Line, this will reduce travel time to the airport.
