Budget 2026 Update: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh presented the fifth and final full budget of its second term. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna opened the treasury for farmers, youth, education, labourers, and students. The UP government also provided a significant gift to meritorious female students.

The UP full budget included a significant special package for the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Scheme. The government has allocated ₹400 crore for this scheme. Scooties will be distributed to eligible female students under this scheme.

Government Makes a Large Budget for the Health Department

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the state’s full budget on Wednesday, making a significant provision for the health department. In his budget speech, he announced that a provision of ₹37,956 crore has been made for the Medical, Health, and Family Welfare Department.

A separate budget of ₹14,997 crore has been proposed for medical education. ₹1,023 crore has also been allocated for the establishment and operation of 14 new medical colleges in the state. A budget of ₹315 crore has been allocated for the Cancer Institute in Lucknow. Currently, a total of 81 medical colleges operate in Uttar Pradesh, 45 of which are government-run and 36 private.

What did the Finance Minister say about the budget?

Suresh Kumar Khanna said that we have taken care of every district. Tax evasion has now stopped in Uttar Pradesh. Every sector is reaching new heights. He said that we are moving forward with new investment plans. Uttar Pradesh is among the top three economies in the country. Uttar Pradesh’s development has helped create employment. A focus has also been placed on backward districts. Work will be done to build new data centres in Uttar Pradesh.

The concept of the state has changed in 9 years.

After the budget was presented, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised his government. He said that in the last 9 years, we have changed the concept of the state. We have brought it out of policy paralysis. The budget has increased more than three times in 9 years.

The theme of the budget is: Safe women, capable youth, work for every hand. More than 2 lakh crore rupees have been allocated for capital expenditure. This is the 10th budget in 9 years, and this is a record for me as Chief Minister. Not a single new tax has been introduced in 9 years. By curbing tax evasion and leakage, Uttar Pradesh has become a surplus state.
