Respecting their role, we have decided to increase their honorarium. Now the department has been directed to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi worker from Rs. 7000 to Rs. 9000 and the honorarium of Anganwadi assistant from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 4500. The Chief Minister said that since the formation of the government in November 2005, we have worked extensively to improve the nutrition and health of pregnant women and children and for this, six types of services are being provided through the Integrated Child Development Project.

Anganwadi workers and assistants play an important role in providing these services to the beneficiaries through Anganwadi centres. In view of their important contribution, it has been decided to increase their honorarium. This will boost the morale of all Anganwadi workers and assistants and the integrated child development services will improve further. Let us tell you that Anganwadi workers and assistants had announced to protest on 8 September in Gardanibagh, Patna.
