Bank Holiday: Another major update for bank customers. Banks are going to remain closed again today on 15th April. Today on Wednesday bank branches will not open in most of the states of the country. Banks will remain closed on April 15 in Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh on account of New Year and other festivals. Bengali New Year (Poila Boishakh), Bohag Bihu and Vishu are festivals celebrated in different states of the country. These festivals mark the New Year and the arrival of harvest. In West Bengal, people wear new clothes on Bengali New Year to mark an auspicious beginning. In Assam, Bohag Bihu is a festival of harvest and prosperity.

On April 14, banks will be closed in several states due to various festivals. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14, will be celebrated with events like Ambedkar Jayanti, Baisakhi, Tamil New Year, and Bihu. Consequently, branches will remain closed for these reasons.
April 15: Local festival
Banks will be closed on April 15 in Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh due to New Year and other festivals. Banking services will also be affected by Bihu in some states on April 16, Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya in Karnataka on April 20, and Garia Puja in Tripura on April 21.
16 April Bank Holiday
On April 16th, banks will be closed in only one city due to Bohag Bihu. Banks will be closed in Guwahati on April 16th. Apart from this, banks will remain open throughout the country.
After April 16th, banks will be closed on Sunday, April 19th. It should be noted that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) already releases a list of bank holidays, which details which banks will be closed in which cities on which days and for which reasons.
