Bank Holiday: Big news for bank customers. Bank Holidays in April 2026: Are Banks Closed Today,Thursday? The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list indicates a holiday today. However,this closure is specific to Kerala,where banks will be shut on April 2nd. It’s important to remember that bank holidays in India differ by state. Therefore,customers should always verify their city’s holiday schedule before planning a bank visit.

 

April 2: Maundy Thursday

 

Banks in Kerala will observe a holiday on April 2nd due to Maundy Thursday.

 

April 3: Good Friday

 

Most banks nationwide will be closed on April 3rd for Good Friday. However,some banks in Tripura,Chandigarh,Assam,Rajasthan,and Jammu and Kashmir may remain open.

 

April 14: Multiple Festivals

 

Banks across numerous states will be closed on April 14th to observe festivals such as Ambedkar Jayanti,Baisakhi,Tamil New Year,and Bihu.

 

April 15: Regional Festivals

 

On April 15th,banks in Tripura,Assam,Arunachal Pradesh,Kerala,West Bengal,and Himachal Pradesh will be closed for New Year and other local festivals.

 

Other Holidays

 

Additionally,banking services may be impacted in certain states on April 16th due to Bihu,on April 20th in Karnataka for Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya,and in Tripura on April 21st for Garia Puja.

 

During these holidays,bank branches will be closed,meaning services like check clearing,cash deposits,and demand draft processing will not be available. However,digital services such as UPI,mobile banking,internet banking,and ATM operations will continue as usual.

Withdrawing cash will no longer be as easy and free as before,as several major banks have changed their ATM rules.
