Bank Holiday: If you plan to visit a bank on Wednesday, December 24th, please check the holiday list in advance. The year 2025 is coming to an end in just a few days. 2026 is about to begin. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the 2026 bank holiday calendar. According to the holiday list, banks will be closed for 16 days in January. However, these holidays vary by state. These holidays include 6 days for the second and fourth Saturdays and 4 Sundays.
Banks will be closed in three states on December 24th. Banks will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, December 24, 2025. However, banks will not be closed nationwide tomorrow; only in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram.
Christmas Eve is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. Due to the large Christian population in these three states, December 24th is a public holiday.

Banks in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram will be closed on Christmas Eve.
December 25 (Thursday)
All banks will be closed nationwide for Christmas.
December 26 (Friday)
Banks will remain closed in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram even after Christmas.
December 27 (Saturday)
Banks will be closed nationwide on the fourth Saturday of the month.
December 28 (Sunday)
Banks will be closed nationwide due to the weekly holiday.
December 30 (Tuesday)
Banks will be closed in Meghalaya on the occasion of the death anniversary of freedom fighter U Kiang Nangbah.
December 31 (Wednesday)
Banks will be closed in Mizoram and Manipur due to New Year’s Eve and the Imoinu Iratpa festival.
Please note that even when banks are closed, UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and ATM services will continue to function normally.
