The Uttar Pradesh government has started the ‘Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau Sanvardhan Yojana’ to promote milk production and rural jobs in the state.
This scheme is part of the ‘Nand Baba Dudh Mission’. Its main goal is to give money help to cattle farmers and encourage them to buy good indigenous breed cows from outside. So, let us know all the details about the Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau Sanvardhan Yojana in this article.
What is the scheme?
Under this scheme, the UP government will give 40% subsidy of the total cost or a maximum of ₹80,000 to each eligible person for buying two cows.
This money will be sent directly to the bank account of the person within one month through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
The scheme will help increase milk production in villages and give better income from animal husbandry.
On which items will subsidy be given?
- Buying of cows
- Transport cost
- Animal insurance
- Fodder cutting machine
- Shed making
- The cost of one unit is about ₹2 lakh.
Who can get the benefit?
- Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have place and shed for animals
- Should not already have more than two improved or F-1 breed cows
- Only Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana, or Tharparkar breed cows allowed
- 3-year animal insurance is required
- Cows must be bought from outside UP
Key conditions
If the person sells or gives the cows to someone else within 3 years, the subsidy money will be taken back by the District Committee.
The scheme is running in all districts of UP.
