Aadhaar card is a very important identity card for every Indian citizen. It is required everywhere, from admission in school to opening a bank account. But if any information in your Aadhaar card is wrong, then you may face many problems. The good thing is that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) gives you the facility to update your information, but there are not unlimited opportunities for every update. Let us know how many times you can update which information.
What updates can be done in the Aadhaar card
You can update many types of information in your Aadhaar card, such as:
Name update

You can change your name on an Aadhaar card only twice. So check the spelling thoroughly while changing the name. For this, you will have to show documents like a PAN card, passport, or marriage certificate.
Date of birth update
The date of birth can be changed only once in Aadhaar. For this, official documents like a birth certificate or educational certificate will be required. UIDAI is very strict about this change, so fill in the correct information in the beginning.
Mobile number update
If your registered mobile number is wrong or you are using a new number, then you can change it as many times as you want. There is no limit for updating the mobile number.
Address update
If you have shifted to a new house or your permanent address has changed, then you can change the address in the Aadhaar card as many times as you want. For this, you will have to provide proof of address, like an electricity bill, a rent agreement, or a bank statement.
Where to make changes
You can make some changes online from home (My Aadhaar portal), while for some, you have to go to the Aadhaar center.

Some important things to avoid mistakes
Whenever you go to the Aadhaar center, take the original documents with you. Check the information thoroughly before submitting it. Always keep your registered mobile number updated, so that you can get OTP and notifications on time. If you take care of these rules, then your Aadhaar card will always be correct and updated, so that you will not have any problem in availing the necessary services.
