A great news has come for the ration card holders of Bihar! The Food and Consumer Protection Department of the state has extended the last date for mandatory linking of Aadhaar with Ration Card to 30 June 2025.
Earlier this deadline was fixed till 31 March 2025. With this decision, lakhs of ration card holders of the state have enough additional time to get their documents updated. Now get Aadhaar seeding done by 30 June
The Food and Consumer Protection Department has issued an official notification in this regard and appealed to all ration card holders to get Aadhaar seeding done for each member registered in their ration card by 30 June 2025. No fee will be charged for this process.
Any member can easily get Aadhaar seeding (e-KYC) done through the EPOS device available at the shop of the nearest Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) vendor. This is an important step taken by the government so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of this process.

If Aadhaar is not linked by June 30, the name will be deleted
The department has given clear instructions that if the Aadhaar seeding of any member mentioned in the ration card is not done by June 30, then his name will be removed from the ration card (effective from 01 July 2025). Due to the removal of the name of such a member, the beneficiary family will be deprived of the benefits of the ration.
Therefore, when the last date for Aadhaar seeding has been extended, all ration card holders are requested to complete this important process within the stipulated period, otherwise, they may face trouble in the future. The important decision of the Government of India
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India had made Aadhaar seeding mandatory for every member of the family registered in the ration card under the Public Distribution System till 31 March 2025.
Now the central government has extended this deadline and made Aadhaar seeding mandatory for every family member included in the ration card till 30 June 2025.
